A scarf for almost every occasion: against wind and sun over a summer dress, as an accessory to a trouser suit or to keep you warm in a winter coat. Merino wool felted onto silk fabric, a lot of silk remains visible. A light, yet warming (and cooling in summer) unique item, natural materials make this possible. Each piece is a one-off production. In the studio
For my scarves, I first lay out the silk fabric on my large work table. Carded wool is spread on top in thin flakes. The entire work piece is wetted with soapy water. Then I carefully move the places where the wool is. The movement weaves the wool into the silk fabric, so to speak. Then I mill the work piece so that the wool shrinks, i.e. it becomes matted. Since the silk does not shrink, it will get pitted in the places where wool is laid on the other side. Rinse, dry, done.
The cloth with you
Care: You can wash the cloth by hand without any problems. Use shredded olive oil soap dissolved in water. Gently squeeze out the cloth, do not wring it out. Do not dry in the sun.
